Your responsibilities will include assisting customers in selecting the perfect frames, conducting eyewear fittings, and ensuring each individual's vision needs are met with precision. Duties Engage with customers to understand their vision needs, preferences, and lifestyle requirements. Provide expert advice on eyewear options, including frames, lenses, and coatings, ensuring optimal fit and functionality. Conduct eyewear fittings and adjustments to guarantee comfort and proper alignment. Dispense spectacle lenses accurately, utilizing optical laboratory experience and knowledge of ophthalmology principles. Operate POS systems and cash registers efficiently while maintaining accurate transaction records. Educate clients on proper eyewear care, maintenance, and the importance of regular eye exams. Maintain detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies while managing patient data within EMR/EHR systems. Assist in laboratory tasks such as lens ordering, optical measurements, and quality control checks. Stay updated on health regulation policies related to optics, pediatrics, senior care, and state healthcare regulations to ensure compliance. Support retail management by maintaining organized displays, managing inventory levels, and contributing to a welcoming store environment. Skills Strong knowledge of ophthalmology, anatomy, physiology, and optics principles for accurate lens dispensing and eyewear fittings. Experience with laboratory procedures related to spectacle lens manufacturing and adjustments. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical coding, medical billing, and health regulation policies including HIPAA and state healthcare regulations. Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic for managing patient records securely. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and empathetically. Retail sales experience combined with retail management skills to drive sales performance effectively. Technical expertise in optical laboratory operations, spectacle lens selection, and aseptic techniques when necessary. Ability to perform basic math calculations for prescriptions, retail math for transactions, and measurements during fittings. Knowledge of POS systems for seamless checkout processes while maintaining accuracy in cash register operations. Experience working within clinical or clinic settings involving vital signs assessment or pediatrics is a plus but not required.
