About the Optician Role Our optician will be responsible for selling, fitting, and dispensing glasses and will initially be expected to answer phones, patient scheduling, insurance verification, and other tasks that arise on a day-to-day basis while providing a great personal experience for our patients. About the Practice A high-end optometric practice in Lucas, Texas is looking for a friendly, energetic optician looking for long term growth in a new up and coming office. You will be working with a fantastic team including 1 optometrist and 1 receptionist. As the practice grows so will the team! We treat patients ranging from pediatrics (little kiddies) to geriatrics (65 years and up) and everything in between. Our doctor is one of the best in the area, and we thrive off of the positive experience that each patient has: From the interaction at the front desk when they first walk in the door, to the time they spend in the exam chair, and then looking for the perfect pair of glasses. Optician Responsibilities Ability to sell premium quality glasses and contact lenses Skilled in fitting, adjustment, and dispensing glasses To be familiar with our optical inventory and products to provide the most appropriate selections for the patient Edge lenses with in-house optical equipment (Training done in office) Answer phones to schedule patients and answer general questions Verify insurances and interpret benefits from a large variety of medical and vision plans Have the willingness and flexibility to learn and adapt in a variety of situations Must have the desire and investment in the practice to help with promotion and growth

Optometry Schedule:

Expected hours: 32-40 per week 8-hour shift Work days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday (2 per month) Two Saturdays per month based on staff availability Role will expand to Monday through Friday as the office grows
