The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting patients in selecting and fitting eyewear, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring that all optical products meet the highest standards of quality. This role requires a strong understanding of optical principles, along with excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients of all ages. Compensation depends on experience.
Qualifications if possible:
2+ years of optometric/ ophthalmic office management experience. 2+ years of hands-on optical lab dispensing, edging, and frame adjustment experience. Experience with EHR software. Strong understanding of vision and medical insurance. Excellent customer service, organization, and problem-solving skills. Duties Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescription and personal style preferences. Ensure accurate fitting of glasses and contact lenses, making necessary adjustments for comfort and functionality. Maintain an organized inventory of optical products, including frames and lenses. Provide education to patients regarding proper eyewear care and usage. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Process orders for eyewear and maintain accurate medical records. Stay updated on the latest trends in eyewear fashion and advancements in optical technology. Skills Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy as it relates to vision care. Familiarity with optical principles and practices, including lens types and frame selection. Experience in retail sales, with a focus on customer service excellence. Understanding of medical coding related to vision care is a plus. Ability to manage retail operations effectively, including inventory management and sales strategies. Experience working with pediatric patients is beneficial but not required. Proficiency in maintaining medical records accurately and efficiently.
