- Assist customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses based on their prescription and personal preferences
- Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes and facial features to ensure proper fit of eyewear
- Educate customers on proper eyewear care and maintenance
- Adjust and repair eyeglasses as needed
- Assist with frame selection and styling to meet customer's needs and preferences
- Maintain inventory of eyewear and order new stock as needed
- Schedule appointments and manage customer records in the optical systems ```Skills```
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, specifically related to the eyes and visual system
- Familiarity with medical billing processes for insurance claims related to vision care services
- Excellent customer service skills to provide a positive experience for patients
- Ability to perform basic vital signs measurements, such as visual acuity testing
- Knowledge of senior care considerations when working with older patients
