Preferred days are Monday, Tuesday, and/or Friday. We offer competitive compensation based on experience, plus a generous production bonus that can increase total daily compensation to approximately $800-$850 per day. Our production bonus has historically been achieved multiple times per month. About Grand Lake Optometry Grand Lake Optometry is a thriving, well-established private practice located near Lake Merritt in Oakland. We are known for providing thorough, personalized eye care, building long-term relationships with our patients, and offering a stylish, carefully curated optical. We have a highly organized practice with clear systems, efficient workflows, and an experienced team that works well together. Our atmosphere is positive, upbeat, professional, and supportive. Our staff is friendly, capable, and well trained, and they take pride in making the day run smoothly for both doctors and patients. All pretesting is completed by our clinical team, allowing our doctors to focus on patient care rather than administrative or technical tasks. Our goal is to create a work environment where doctors feel supported, respected, and able to practice high-quality optometry without unnecessary chaos.
Our technology includes:
Automated phoropters OCT Zeiss Humphrey Visual Field Optomap MYAH topography and axial-length measurement Fundus photography Clinical Experience This position offers well-rounded, full-scope optometry in a high-end private-practice setting, including: Primary eye care Ocular disease and glaucoma management Contact lens fittings Myopia management Opportunities to develop specialty services such as scleral lenses and dry-eye treatment If you have a particular area of optometry that you would like to grow, this is an excellent setting in which to develop it. Full examinations are generally scheduled every 30 minutes, allowing for a comfortable pace and thorough patient care. The office closes completely for a full one-hour lunch each day.
Schedule Office hours are:
Monday-Friday:
9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
Saturday:
9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. We are currently seeking approximately two days per week, preferably Monday, Tuesday, and/or Friday. Some flexibility may be available for the right candidate. Qualifications Doctor of Optometry degree Current California optometry license Glaucoma certification Professional liability insurance Strong communication and patient-care skills Interest in private practice preferred Experience or interest in myopia management, specialty contact lenses, dry-eye treatment, or ocular disease is a plus, but not required. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
