In this role, you will provide comprehensive eye care services, including eye examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of various ocular conditions. Your expertise will help improve patients' vision and overall eye health through personalized care, advanced diagnostic techniques, and patient education. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives while working in a collaborative and innovative environment. Responsibilities Conduct thorough ophthalmic patient examinations utilizing advanced diagnostic imaging equipment to assess eye health and vision status. Our office has OCT, visual fields, meibography, and topography to allow you to practice to your full extent. Diagnose and manage a wide range of ocular diseases and conditions, including those requiring specialized ophthalmology knowledge. Perform contact lens fittings and provide guidance on proper contact lens care and maintenance. Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems to document patient histories, exam findings, treatments, and follow-up plans accurately. Educate patients on eye health, disease prevention, treatment options, and proper use of medical equipment. Operate ophthalmic diagnostic equipment with precision, ensuring aseptic technique to maintain patient safety and comply with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with healthcare professionals for comprehensive disease state management and ophthalmic consultations when necessary. Skills Strong knowledge of ophthalmology principles, physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology related to eye care. Proficiency in using ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment, tonometry devices, and other medical equipment essential for eye examinations. Experience with medical coding for billing purposes and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient record keeping. Excellent client communication skills to explain diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventive care effectively. Knowledge of disease management strategies for common ocular conditions and the ability to operate medical equipment safely. Understanding of HIPAA compliance requirements to ensure confidentiality of patient information at all times.
