Job Description:
Key Responsibilities Patient Consultations:
Perform comprehensive history and physical exams for new and returning GI patients.
Condition Management:
Manage and treat common GI disorders.
Diagnostic Ordering:
Order, interpret, and explain diagnostic tests like lab panels, imaging, and stool studies.
Pre & Post-Procedure Care:
Educate patients, obtain consent, and review medication instructions before/after procedures like endoscopies and colonoscopies.
Prescriptive Authority:
Write and renew prescriptions, manage biologic therapies, and coordinate intravenous (IV) infusion therapies. [
Qualifications & Requirements Education:
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) for NPs; Master's degree for PAs.
Licensure:
Valid and unrestricted NP or PA state license.
Core Skills Clinical Competency:
Ability to perform GI-focused physical assessments and interpret liver function tests, imaging, and biopsy results.
Communication:
High-level empathy and communication skills.
