In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive eye care services, including eye examinations, diagnosis of ocular conditions, and the management of eye health. Your expertise will help improve patients' visual acuity and overall ocular wellness through personalized treatment plans and patient education. Duties Conduct thorough ophthalmic patient examinations, including visual acuity testing, tonometry (measuring intraocular pressure), and assessment of ocular health using ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment. Diagnose and manage various eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and other disease states related to eye health. Perform contact lens fittings and provide guidance on lens selection, insertion, removal, and care. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to document patient histories, examination findings, treatment plans, and follow-up care accurately. Educate patients on eye health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options while ensuring clear communication tailored to diverse patient needs. Operate medical equipment safely and effectively, including ophthalmic diagnostic tools like slit lamps, tonometers, and imaging devices. Collaborate with healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Requirements Valid optometry license or certification in the relevant jurisdiction. Proven experience in ophthalmology or optometry practice with a strong foundation in optical experience and medical treatment knowledge. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology of the eye, and ophthalmic diagnosis techniques. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient record keeping and patient management. Ability to perform ophthalmic consultations, disease state management, contact lens fitting, and ophthalmic patient examinations confidently. Strong client communication skills with a focus on excellent customer service and patient care. Understanding of medical terminology related to eye health and healthcare diagnosis procedures. Experience operating medical equipment such as tonometers and ophthalmic diagnostic imaging devices. Knowledge of aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during examinations.
