An Optometrist provides primary care for health issues related to the eyes and vision. Examines patients' eyes to diagnose vision problems or diseases, and prescribes eyeglasses, contact lenses, or other treatments as needed. May specialize in a particular type of eye or vision care.
We are seeking dedicated Optometrists to join our team in Buffalo, NY. The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye exams, including refractions, contact lens evaluations, and ocular health assessments for patients across varied ages and conditions. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and managing common eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, dry eye, and diabetic eye disease, conducting post‑operative visits, and coordinating care with ophthalmologists and other clinical staff.
Qualifications:
Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution and current, unrestricted license to practice optometry in New York State (or eligibility for licensure). Strong clinical skills in comprehensive eye exams, refraction, contact lens fitting, and management of ocular disease (glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, dry eye, diabetic eye disease). Experience in medical or surgical eye care settings, with comfort co‑managing laser vision correction and cataract surgery patients. Proficiency with modern diagnostic equipment and electronic health records; familiarity with advanced refractive and cataract technologies is highly beneficial. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex medical information clearly and provide compassionate, patient‑centered care. Strong attention to detail, sound clinical judgment, and commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards. Ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, technicians, and administrative staff in a fast‑paced clinical environment. Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and remain current with advances in optometry, refractive surgery, and cataract care.

$67.00 - $75.00 per hour
