Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Diabetic Shoe Fitter to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist patients in selecting and fitting therapeutic footwear designed to prevent complications related to diabetes. Your expertise will ensure patients receive comfortable, properly fitted shoes that promote foot health and overall well-being. Duties Conduct thorough intake assessments to understand patient needs and medical history Measure feet accurately and evaluate foot physiology, anatomy, and skin condition Assist patients with selecting appropriate diabetic footwear based on their specific requirements Educate patients on proper shoe usage, foot care routines, and the importance of regular foot inspections Collaborate with healthcare providers, including understanding ICD coding for documentation purposes Maintain detailed records of fittings, patient interactions, and treatment plans Experience Prior experience in patient service or footwear fitting preferred but not required; training provided Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology related to foot health and diabetes management Familiarity with intake procedures, ICD coding, and documentation standards in healthcare settings Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care Join us to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives by providing expert diabetic footwear fitting services.
