Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide expert assessment, design, fitting, and adjustment of prosthetic and orthotic devices to enhance patient mobility and quality of life. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes through personalized care, clinical collaboration, and innovative device solutions. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and biomechanical evaluations, to determine the most appropriate prosthetic or orthotic solutions. Design, fit, adjust, and modify orthopedic devices such as prostheses and orthoses to meet individual patient needs while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies. Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams—including physicians, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists—to develop integrated treatment plans. Educate patients on device usage, maintenance, and care to ensure optimal functionality and comfort. Maintain detailed documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, device modifications, and progress notes in compliance with healthcare standards. Stay current with continuing medical education (CME) training to incorporate the latest techniques in prosthetics and orthotics. Ensure aseptic techniques during device fittings and adjustments to maintain a sterile environment and prevent infections. Requirements Certification as a Prosthetist/Orthotist from an accredited program with post-residency experience in clinical settings. Demonstrated expertise in orthotic and prosthetic fitting, adjustment, and troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and medical terminology relevant to limb loss and musculoskeletal conditions. Experience performing physical assessments including gait analysis, postural evaluation, and other physical examinations. Proficiency in using orthopedic devices, medical tools, and diagnostic equipment for patient evaluation. Excellent client communication skills with a focus on patient service and education. Ability to collaborate effectively within clinical interprofessional teams while maintaining confidentiality policies. Knowledge of aseptic techniques during device fabrication and fitting procedures. Commitment to ongoing professional development through CME training to stay updated on advances in the field. Pay:
$85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per yearBenefits:
