Provide direct patient care by educating patients on device usage, maintenance, and care instructions to promote compliance and positive outcomes. Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams such as physicians, physiotherapists, and prosthetists to develop integrated treatment plans. Maintain detailed documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, device modifications, and progress notes in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies. Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques during device fabrication and fitting procedures to uphold safety standards. Stay current with continuing medical education (CME) training and industry advancements to continually enhance your clinical skills and knowledge base. Skills Strong understanding of pediatrics, biomechanics, physiology, and anatomy relevant to orthotic care. Proficiency in orthotic and prosthetic fitting, adjustment techniques, and device fabrication processes. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively about complex medical terminology in a clear manner. Knowledge of physical assessments, medical terminology, orthopedic devices, and clinical confidentiality policies. Experience with physical examinations and patient assessment protocols to determine appropriate orthotic interventions. Familiarity with aseptic techniques during device fabrication and fitting procedures to ensure patient safety. Commitment to ongoing professional development through continuing education (CME) training in orthotics or related fields.
