PARAMEDIC

%20-%20EMERGENCY%20SERVICES Position Summary Position administers patient care at the scene of an emergency, including basic and advanced life support. Position Responsibilities 1. Administers patient care at the scene of an emergency, including basic and advanced life support in accordance with written standing orders/protocols or through direct contact with a medical control physician via telephone and/or radio communications as defined by the State of Maryland paramedic scope of practice. 2. Completes written or electronic detailed patient care reports and verbal patient care reports, to receiving facilities and staff. 3. Performs daily maintenance of station, vehicle and equipment and ensures unit is prepared for next call. 4. Operates two-way radio to communicate with other units, dispatch, and medical facilities. 5. Participates in community relations and education at public events and county activities as requested. 6. Participates in continuous training, education, and skills review to maintain State of Maryland & National Registry paramedic certification. 7. May provide testimony in court or through deposition regarding observations/performance of job activities. 8. Assists in precepting students and third-party riders per department guidelines.
