POSITION PURPOSE

(SUMMARY) The EMS Director is responsible for directing daily operations and functions of Paramedics and EMT-IVs in a 911 setting based on Tennessee EMS Rules and Regulations. 2.

POSTION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Two years college preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of five years experience as a Paramedic in a 911 setting.

Licenses/Certificates:

Currently licensed as a Paramedic in the State of Tennessee with certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS, required. Minimum of an F endorsement with valid Tennessee driver's license required. 3.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITES 1.

Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning the personal, financial, medical, or employment status of patients of Henderson County Emergency Medical Services and their families. 2. Must follow accepted safety practices for patients and hospital. 3. Must report safety hazards and initiate appropriate action. 4. Must participate in safety and infection control instructional programs. 5. Participate in Performance Improvement activities. 6. Communicate in an acceptable and easily understood manner. 7. Must observe excellent customer service skills when dealing with patients, families and/or significant others, outside vendors, co-workers and physicians. 8. Must attend hospital orientation as required and scheduled by HR. 9. Must be able to pass drug screens, both pre-employment and throughout duration of employment. 3A.
