Job Description

Job Title:
Mental Health Care Navigator and Prison Educator Position Reports To:
Program Manager Classification:
Part-time, non-exempt (20-25 hours/week)
Location:
In-person (Lancaster, PA & Lebanon, PA) Purpose of Position The Mental Health Care Navigator and Prison Educator supports community members navigating the mental health system and connects them to appropriate resources. This position provides one-on-one and group support focused on problem-solving, action planning, skill-building, and linkage to services. Additionally, the role delivers mental health education and facilitates support groups for incarcerated individuals to promote wellness, resource connection, and continuity of support post-release. Duties and Responsibilities Consumer Supports - Community Provide mental health system navigation for community members seeking support and resources. Connect consumers with external providers based on specific needs. Provide ongoing support throughout the process of obtaining and receiving services. Engage and collaborate with county staff and local mental health providers. Consumer Supports - Prison Facilitate support groups for incarcerated individuals at the Lebanon County Correctional Facility. Facilitate educational groups using approved curricula. Provide direct support for incarcerated individuals regarding mental health and wellness needs. Serve on committees supporting mental health services for justice-involved populations. Provide resources, advocacy, and 1-on-1 support for individuals post-release. Connect consumers with external providers based on specific needs. Provide ongoing support throughout the process of obtaining and receiving services. Engage and collaborate with county staff and local mental health providers. Expectations Maintain consumer confidentiality consistent with MHA policies. Maintain accurate and timely case, file, and program records. Adhere to all agency documentation and reporting requirements. Represent the agency professionally on assigned community committees and coalitions. Promote program awareness and community engagement. Effectively manage time to fulfill all job responsibilities. Conduct service evaluations to measure program impact. Participate in supervision, required trainings, and agency activities. Attend biweekly, in-person team meetings at the Lancaster office location. Successfully complete the Lebanon County Correctional Facility vendor training.
Qualifications & Requirements Education:
Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, education, or a directly related human services field preferred. Associate degree accepted with a minimum of 2 years of direct experience working with incarcerated populations.
Language:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Licensure:
Valid Driver's License required.
Commute:
Ability to reliably commute to both Lancaster, PA, and Lebanon, PA.
