Summary:
Provides safe and efficient transport of patients.Responsibilities:
- Transports patients safely between Pardee Hospital campus sites. utilizes good body mechanics when moving patients onto stretchers and beds, asking for assistance when needed.
- Verifies patient identification, assists patients and family members that require extra attention. Complies with policies and procedures concerning infection control and safety.
- Drapes patients, closing curtains, providing pillow, blankets, robes, etc. when transporting patients.
- Manages I.V.'s, catheters, suction, etc. when transporting patients, demonstrates effective communication and listening skills to insure that no procedure is delayed or compromised due to inadequate communication.
- Maintains stock of necessary items. Keeps stretchers, wheelchairs, and other patient transport devices clean and in proper working order.
- Checks oxygen tanks daily and replenishes as necessary, practices safety when changing regulators.

Qualifications Required- High school diploma or equivalent.
