High Voltage Fitness

Certified Group Fitness Instructor

Job Description

High Voltage Fitness is Burbank's community-first strength gym. We are a queer & disabled owned and growing fast enough that we need more great coaches to keep serving our members the way they deserve. We are looking for a youth coach, an evening coach, and a backup coach. Or, if you're looking for something more consistent, we are open to one coach who wants to take on approximately 20 hours a week for evening classes, some office work and community building. What You'll Do Coach group classes in a way that supports our members' health, fitness, and goals; not just the workout on the whiteboard. You're comfortable adjusting a pre-planned session on the fly based on what a member actually needs that day, whether that's a modification, a lighter load, or a completely different movement. You've got a strong grasp of exercise form, both to demonstrate it yourself and to correct it in others, and safety is always your first priority when adjusting or assisting someone through a movement. Our approach is inclusive, body-positive and movement-focused. We care less about chasing numbers on a whiteboard and more about helping members feel good in their bodies as they work towards their goals. We offer Strength & Conditioning, Olympic lifting, various types of yoga, powerlifting, and more, so members always have something to try that goes at whatever pace and in whatever body they show up in. We want coaches who can talk to anyone from beginners, to advanced athletes and everyone in between with clear, direct communication and genuine warmth. You take direction well and work as part of a team, but you're just as comfortable leading your own classes and putting your own stamp on a program.
