If you posses a passion for community engagement, and recreational programming, we invite you to apply! Qualified applicants must be available to work 10-30 hours per week. Shifts may include mornings, evenings, and weekends, from Monday through Sunday. Work schedules and staffing levels will vary according to seasonal or year-round recreation programming needs.
Example of Duties Youth and Adult Sports:
Pee Wee Sports, Youth Basketball League, Youth Volleyball League, and Drop-in Volleyball and Badminton Teaching basic sports skills to participants and assisting with the delivery of leisure service programs and community special events. Preparing and setting up the gym or athletic field for games and play. Supervising league play, interpreting rules and policies governing sports play and scorekeeping. Perform related duties as assigned. Park Operations Setting up equipment (pickleball nets, soccer goals, signage, etc.) and supervising field and pavilion rentals/events. Open, close, and secure park facilities. Coordinating, overseeing, securing, and directing proper safe use of park and equipment. Cleaning of park facility and equipment before and after field and pavilion rentals/events or as needed. Perform related duties as assigned. Senior Center Interact with participants and assists other staff in programming as needed. Assist with Nutrition Programs; prepare and serve meals, prepare and deliver meals to homebound seniors, clean the kitchen at the end of each day; assist with lunch special events Answers telephones and routes calls to appropriate persons and/or departments. Perform related duties as assigned Facility Operations Set-up equipment (ex. tables and chairs) and supervise facilities for rentals/events. Open, close and secure facilities. Coordinating, overseeing, securing and directing the proper safe use of facilities and equipment. Cleaning of facilities and equipment before and after facility rentals and events or as needed. Perform related duties as assigned. Typical QualificationsRECREATION LEADER I
- No previous related experience required. Must have equivalent to the completion of the tenth grade and be at least 16 years of age upon hire.RECREATION LEADER II
- Minimum of 250 paid and/or volunteer hours of employment in a recreation or community-based program, including public contact experience. Must have equivalent to the completion of the tenth grade and be at least 16 years of age upon hire.RECREATION LEADER III
- Minimum of 500 paid and/or volunteer hours of employment in a recreation or community-based program, including extensive public contact experience and some college coursework majoring in a specialized field of program assignment or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of education. Individual must be at least 18 years of age upon hire. All positions require CPR, First Aid and AED certifications. Upon hire, all employees are required to have a valid Adult/Pediatric CPR, First Aid, and AED certification from the American Red Cross. No other certifications will be accepted.
