Role:

La Valle Coastal Club is hiring experienced Group Fitness Instructors as independent contractors (1099) to deliver structured fitness classes to our members. This is not a W2 employee role. Instructors must operate independently and provide services under their own established fitness business. You will manage your own schedule, methods, and materials while delivering high-quality fitness programming in a premier country club environment. This role is ideal for those who contract with multiple locations and are in business for themselves.

Specialty Focus Areas:

Strength & Circuit Specialist We are seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable Group Fitness Instructor to lead our station-based strength classes. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced circuit environment, possesses a deep understanding of weightlifting mechanics, and excels at coaching multiple fitness levels simultaneously across different stations.

Pay:

$50 per 1-hour class (negotiable based on experience)

Responsibilities:

Provide fitness instruction under your own business entity Manage your own preparation, materials, and liability insurance Coordinate scheduling and availability directly with the fitness director Deliver your own custom fitness programming to our members Communicate any changes, absences, or concerns proactively Respect facility guidelines and professional boundaries with members No access to club facilities outside of scheduled sessions

Qualifications:

2+ years of group instruction experience Current certification from a recognized body (ACE, NASM, AFAA, etc.) Valid CPR/AED certification Proof of professional liability insurance You must operate as an independent business (with EIN or sole prop) Experience contracting with multiple clients preferred Ability to provide own equipment (if needed)

Independent Contractor Terms:

This is a 1099 contract role, not employment. You will not be supervised day-to-day, required to wear a uniform, or subject to club employee policies. The club does not guarantee a minimum number of classes or continuity of work. You are free to set your own rates (within reason), teach at other locations, and accept or decline opportunities as they arise.
