Personal Trainer (part-time, hourly rate w/ commission based pay)
Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Monitors safety in the weight room. Assists residents with fitness programming.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Conduct health history evaluations, fitness assessments, and movement analyses. 2. Screen and obtain medical clearance where necessary before implementing an exercise program. 3. Call, schedule, and meet with residents requiring a complimentary training session and/or paid session. 4. Develop execute exercise programs according to client goals and current industry guidelines including proper form and technique. 5. Maintain accurate records of sessions and client progress. 6. Advise residents on matters of health and fitness only within the scope of professional training. 7. Develop and implement small group sessions and specialty classes. 8. Actively engage with clientele on the gym floor, educate on equipment usage, and maintain a clean, safe workout environment. 9. Assist Fitness Director and Assistant Fitness Director(s) with special projects, events, and orientations.NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

None.WORKING CONDITIONS
Position requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, pushing, jumping, and lifting, carrying, and moving objects that weigh up to 45 pounds. Ambient temperature in working environment is subject to change.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. BA/BS Degree in exercise-related field or equivalent experience preferred 2. Certified in First Aid/CPR/AED required 3. Personal training certification required from an NCCA-accredited program (ACSM, NSCA, NASM, ACE) 4. Two (2) years of prior training experience required; experience with clients age 55+ preferredSUCCESS FACTORS
1. Work independently in solving problems, meeting goals, handling complaints, recognizing and calmly attending to life-threatening emergencies 2. Understanding and implementation of fitness programming needs and contraindications for a large variety of health conditions affecting a population age 55+ 3. Ability to enforce facility policies with a professional attitude and be an example of appropriate fitness etiquette 4. Remain current in the industry by showing proof of continuing education endeavors relevant to 55+ population. 3. Proven and effective interpersonal and customer service skillsNORMAL WORKING
HOURS and DAYS:
Part-time hours (days/hours will vary); 30-minute meal break as required; overtime as required. Weekends and evenings as needed.Compensation:
