Yoga Group Exercise Instructor
Job Description
Job Overview YWCA Greenwich is looking for a dynamic, energetic, and experienced Yoga Group Exercise Instructor to join our team. If you are passionate about health and wellness, love motivating others, and have a talent for creating fun, effective workouts, we want you! This role offers the opportunity to inspire individuals of all fitness levels while promoting a positive and energetic environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Plan and lead safe, engaging, and well-structured yoga classes appropriate for a variety of fitness and experience levels. Provide clear instruction and demonstrate proper yoga poses, breathing techniques, stretching, and movement. Offer modifications and alternatives to accommodate different abilities, experience levels, and physical limitations. Create a positive, welcoming, and inclusive environment that encourages member participation and engagement. Arrive on time and prepare for scheduled classes, including setting up and organizing the class space as needed. Monitor participants throughout class and provide guidance regarding proper form and safe movement. Maintain professional and positive relationships with YWCA members, guests, and staff. Communicate scheduling needs, substitutions, participant concerns, or facility issues with the appropriate YWCA staff member. Assist with promoting a positive member experience and encouraging continued participation in YWCA health and wellness programs. Follow all YWCA Greenwich policies, procedures, safety protocols, and emergency procedures. Maintain required certifications and complete any required YWCA training. Qualifications Current yoga instructor certification from a recognized training organization preferred. Current CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain certification. Previous experience teaching group yoga classes preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with participants of different ages, abilities, and fitness levels. Dependable, professional, energetic, and committed to providing an excellent member experience. Schedule Part-time position with weekday and weekend opportunities available. Morning, daytime, evening, and weekend availability may be considered based on the YWCA Greenwich group fitness schedule. Join us to inspire others on their wellness journey! Harmony Project serving survivors of domestic and sexual violence, Aquatics, Childhood Education programs, Fitness memberships, Health & Recreation Programs, and the Center for Equity and Justice.More specifically:
YWCA Greenwich provides comprehensive direct services to victims of domestic and sexual violence through 24-hour hotlines, crisis intervention, counseling, court advocacy, and emergency sheltering. We added a Civil Legal Clinic and Financial Literacy Coaching to our array of free services to victims of domestic violence. In addition, the YWCA Greenwich provides prevention education through extensive training of key members of the community and age-appropriate domestic abuse prevention programs through the Greenwich Public Schools and independent schools. YWCA Greenwich has a nationally recognized swim team. The Dolphins, now in its 51th season with well over 200 swimmers, can point with pride to multiple USA Swimming recognition as a "Silver Medal" or "Bronze Medal" Club, placing the team in the top 4% nationally.
