An Anytime Fitness Coach (certified personal trainer) focuses on mentoring members and clients to help them improve their health and quality of life through fitness. A coach takes the time to work with others, using their knowledge, skills, and abilities to conduct safe and effective exercise sessions for a variety of participants. Technical Expertise Coaches should be confident in the following areas: Influencing behavior change Fitness program design Instructing training sessions (one-on-one and small group/semi-private) Using technical platforms required to perform the job (iPad, CMS, Anytime Fitness App®) Using tools (body scanner, fitness tests, etc.) to assess clients and members Soft Skills Beyond their technical skillset, the Anytime Fitness Coach should possess above-average customer service skills to provide a "surprisingly personable experience" to everyone they meet. This is especially important as we work to differentiate our brand as the "gym that actually cares about others' health and takes the time to help them succeed." These tasks illustrate what it means to be "surprisingly personable": Addressing members by their names Introducing yourself to others Inviting others to talk more about themselves Assisting members outside of training sessions Trainers should be genuine and intrinsically motivated to positively represent their performance and that of the club to the best of their ability. Other Duties We recommend coaches have a healthy mix of training and non-training hours. During non-training hours, coaches perform duties like: Conducting and following up with fitness consultations (assessments) General upkeep (equipment and training floor cleanliness) Selling and promoting training and campaigns Following up with inactive and active members to increase engagement and retention Training area setup (room, equipment, events when applicable) Journaling notes on all consultations and training sessions Corresponding with members via the Anytime Fitness App Reviewing members' retention scores Organizing/participating in community outreach events and business-to-business partnerships Continuing education (ClubConnect/Academy resources, corporate training events, etc.) This position will start part-time and progress accordingly to demand.
