Part-Time Paid Internship Field:
Personal Training / Strength & Conditioning / Sports Performance / Rehabilitation Are you passionate about fitness, strength training, and athletic performance and looking for an opportunity to learn from an experienced strength and conditioning professional? We are seeking a motivated Personal Training / Strength & Conditioning Intern to work directly with Coach John Philbin , a strength and performance professional with more than 30 years of experience coaching athletes and fitness clients. Coach Philbin spent 24 years working in professional sports, including the NFL and Major League Baseball , and is a former Olympian with extensive experience training athletes, youth, adults, and older populations. This is a paid, hands-on internship and mentorship opportunity designed for someone interested in developing real-world coaching skills beyond what can be learned in the classroom. What You'll Learn Strength and conditioning program design Proper exercise technique and coaching Biomechanics, anatomy, and exercise physiology Speed, agility, strength, and power development Manual resistance exercise techniques Exercise modification and injury prevention Client assessment and program progression Motivational coaching and communication Working with athletes and general fitness clients Fundamentals of building a successful personal training business Responsibilities Help create programs based on clients' goals, abilities, training history, and limitations Demonstrate and teach proper exercise technique and body mechanics Observe clients and help identify technique, strength, and movement deficiencies Assist with strength, speed, agility, mobility, and conditioning sessions Help maintain a professional, positive, and motivating training environment Develop strong communication and client-relations skills Learn how to progress and modify exercises for different populations safely Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is: Passionate about strength training, fitness, or sports performance Dependable, energetic, and willing to learn Comfortable interacting with athletes and fitness clients Interested in a career in personal training, strength & conditioning, physical therapy, athletic training, kinesiology, or exercise science Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or certification in a related field.
Preferred Certs:
NSPA / NSCA / ACSM / NASM
Why This Internship? This is an opportunity to gain real-world, hands-on coaching experience while being personally mentored by a coach with decades of experience at the professional, Olympic, collegiate, youth, and private-sector levels. Paid position. Flexible part-time hours available.
Pay:
$10.00 - $15.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 6.0 per week
