Schedule private/semi-private lessons in advance with the participant. Maintain lesson plans. Check Swim Lessons binder on a weekly basis. Respond to all communications regarding available lessons sent by supervisor. Maintain open communication between participants and guardians regarding participant's progress. Provide first aid in emergency situations. Attend learn to swim staff meetings throughout the year. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication. Demonstrate an ability to work well in a team. Be accountable and reliable. Demonstrate an ability to enforce rules and regulations. Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive rapport with patrons and co-workers. Adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in Recreation and Wellness Student Employee Manual. Promote and support the mission of the Department of Recreation and Wellness. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Minimum Qualifications Ability to learn, implement, and instruct BGSU swim lesson curriculum. Possess current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications or obtain following hire. Possess the ability to work with office/computer equipment. Possess and display professional mannerisms and a friendly demeanor. No prior swim instructor experience is required.
