This position creates a welcoming, motivating environment while ensuring participant safety and delivering an exceptional member experience. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and lead safe, effective, and engaging strength fitness classes aligned with program objectives. Demonstrate proper exercise technique while providing clear instruction, cueing, and modifications for varying fitness levels and abilities. Create a positive, motivating, and inclusive class environment that encourages participation and member success. Build rapport with members by offering encouragement, answering questions, and supporting individual fitness goals. Monitor participant safety, exercise form, and overall class experience, making appropriate adjustments as needed. Maintain current knowledge of exercise science, anatomy, kinesiology, and industry best practices. Collaborate with the Group Fitness Program Supervisor to develop programming and maintain high-quality class offerings. Communicate professionally with supervisors and staff regarding scheduling, equipment, facility concerns, and supply needs. Promote group fitness classes, club programs, and member engagement opportunities. Set up, inspect, clean, and return equipment before and after each class while maintaining a clean, organized studio environment. Follow all club policies and procedures related to safety, risk management, emergency response, and incident reporting. Professionally manage class disruptions or member concerns while maintaining a positive atmosphere. Arrive prepared and on time for scheduled classes and fulfill all assigned shift responsibilities. Foster positive working relationships with members, coworkers, and leadership while representing the Athletic Club of Bend in a professional manner. Assist with special events, instructor coverage, and additional duties as needed. Qualifications Current Group Fitness Instructor certification from a nationally recognized organization (ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM, or equivalent). Current CPR/AED certification. Strength and conditioning specialization or related certification preferred. Previous group fitness instruction and customer service experience preferred. Strong communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills. Ability to safely instruct participants of varying ages, abilities, and fitness levels. Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and a passion for health, fitness, and exceptional member service. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and substitute classes as needed.
