Certified Exercise Physiologist/Personal Trainer Location:
Spring Island Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Exercise Physiologist/Personal Trainer to join our team at Spring Island, a serene and prestigious community focused on holistic wellness. In this role, you will design and deliver evidence-based customized fitness programs, provide individual and small group training, and help clients achieve their health and wellness goals with the highest level of skill and professionalism. Our compensation program is highly competitive and is commensurate with education and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial client assessments to determine current fitness levels, medical history, goals, and any contraindications.
  • Design personalized, evidence-based training programs (8-12 week cycles or longer) aligned with client goals.
  • Lead one-on-one and small group training sessions (typically 30-60 minutes) in-person within the facility. Occasional off-site visit sessions may be granted if appropriate.
  • Demonstrate exercises with proper technique, provide cueing, and ensure client safety.
  • Track metrics such as strength, endurance, flexibility, body composition, and performance milestones.
  • Monitor progress, adjust programs as needed, and maintain updated client records.
  • Adhere to industry standards and best practices for safety, professionalism, and ethics.
  • Hold or obtain and maintain ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (or industry equivalent, with approval), liability insurance with required coverage, up to date CPR/first aid training.
  • Stay current with industry trends, new techniques, and continuing education requirements to ensure the highest level of service.
  • Design and lead engaging, evidence-based group exercise classes using current exercise science to improve functional strength, mobility, cardiovascular fitness, and metabolic health while fostering a motivating, high-energy environment and ensuring participant safety
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Exercise Science or health related field.
  • ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist or industry equivalent by approval.
  • Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certified fitness professional preferred
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • Basic knowledge of nutrition coaching.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience preferred.
  • Liability insurance with proper coverage.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A passion for wellness and a holistic approach to health.
