About the Position Sparkle City Gymnastics is looking for energetic, dependable, and engaging instructors to join our growing recreational gymnastics program. We are looking for more than someone who simply supervises a class. Our instructors are expected to actively teach, encourage, correct, motivate, and connect with every gymnast in their class. The right candidate is someone who genuinely enjoys working with children, brings positive energy into the gym, communicates confidently, and takes pride in helping students learn new skills and build confidence. Gymnastics coaching experience is preferred, but we are also interested in candidates with backgrounds in gymnastics, cheerleading, tumbling, dance, athletics, education, childcare, or youth coaching who are eager to learn. Training is provided! Schedule Part time afternoon and evening hours, primarily Monday through Friday. Some Saturday opportunities may be available. This is a great position for college students, teachers, former gymnasts/cheerleaders, or anyone looking for consistent part time afternoon and evening work. What You'll Do As a Recreational Gymnastics Instructor, you will: Teach recreational gymnastics classes for children of various ages and skill levels Follow Sparkle City lesson plans and skill progressions Teach proper technique on floor, bars, beam, vault, and other gymnastics equipment Provide clear instruction, corrections, encouragement, and feedback throughout class Keep students active, engaged, and progressing rather than simply supervising activities Learn and use appropriate spotting techniques and safety procedures Manage groups of children confidently and maintain an organized class Learn students' names and build positive relationships with them Celebrate progress and help students feel successful Communicate professionally and positively with parents when appropriate Welcome free trial students and help create an experience that makes families excited to return Assist with special events, clinics, camps, Parents Night Out, and other programs as opportunities arise Maintain a professional appearance and follow all Sparkle City staff policies and procedures We're Looking for Someone Who Is Energetic. You should be comfortable being on your feet, demonstrating skills, moving around the gym, and actively engaging with children throughout your shift. Dependable. Our families and athletes rely on their instructors. Consistent attendance and punctuality are extremely important. Confident. You should be comfortable leading a group, giving directions, managing behavior, and communicating with both children and parents. Positive. We want instructors who encourage children, celebrate their progress, and make them excited to come back each week. Coach-able. We provide training and feedback and are looking for employees who want to continue learning and improving. Professional. Instructors are expected to be attentive and engaged while coaching, follow our policies, and represent Sparkle City well. Qualifications Experience working with children is strongly preferred Gymnastics, tumbling, cheerleading, dance, coaching, teaching, or athletic experience is preferred Previous gymnastics coaching experience is a plus but is not required for the right candidate Must be comfortable learning gymnastics progressions, drills, and spotting techniques Must be physically able to demonstrate basic movements, move equipment, get up and down from the floor, and assist gymnasts with skills Must be available for consistent weekday afternoon and/or evening shifts Must be reliable and have dependable transportation Must be able to pass a background check Why Join Sparkle City?
