Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Per Diem A per diem opportunity is available for experienced pharmacists to join a growing team supporting multiple pharmacy locations in Mount Lemmon, AZ. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time hours with flexible scheduling, ready to provide coverage during call-outs, vacations, and periods of increased prescription volume. Typical pharmacy operations run Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with some locations extending to 8 p.m. While specific shifts cannot be guaranteed, pharmacists are typically needed for 2-4 days per week to maintain adequate coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
Dispense and manage prescription medications accurately and efficiently, handling an average prescription volume of 100-125 per day Provide excellent patient counseling and education regarding medications Administer immunizations as authorized Utilize QS1 pharmacy software for prescription processing and inventory management Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and other staff members to ensure smooth operations Participate in an initial 8-hour training session to prepare for pharmacist-only sites and unique pharmacy workflows; additional training will be provided as needed
Qualifications:
1-2+ years retail pharmacy experience preferred, with demonstrated ability to work independently Certified immunizer and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to adapt to varying site setups, including pharmacist-only locations with limited technician support This per diem position offers the flexibility to accommodate part-time schedules while working in a supportive and dynamic pharmacy environment.
