Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract Deliver expert pharmaceutical care in a dynamic hospital environment with 117 licensed beds and an average daily census of 44 patients. This 13-week+ contract position offers a vital role working flexible day and afternoon shifts, supporting quality patient outcomes through comprehensive pharmacy services.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify medication orders ensuring accuracy and safety Oversee and support pharmacy technicians in daily operations Collaborate closely with nursing and physician staff for consultation and clinical support Apply pharmacokinetic principles to optimize patient medication therapies Utilize Paragon/Allscripts order entry systems for efficient workflow Manage automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis) to maintain inventory and access security
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Current pharmacist license in good standing Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy practices, including order verification and medication dispensing Experience with hospital pharmacy automation tools such as Pyxis Proficiency with Paragon and Allscripts order entry systems preferred Excellent communication skills to provide clinical consultation and collaborate with healthcare teams
