This role involves ensuring the safe and accurate use of medications in an inpatient setting, with responsibilities spanning medication verification, sterile compounding, and clinical consultation.

Monday to

Friday, Day Shift:

9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Full-time) On-call availability for weekends and after-hours (calls are rare)

Key Responsibilities:

Verify and review medication orders to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and patient safety Compound sterile medications as needed, including IV admixtures and unit dose medications (no chemotherapy or hazardous drugs at this site) Respond promptly to emergency room codes, supporting acute patient needs Maintain regulatory compliance with hospital policies, state and federal laws, and sterile compounding standards Monitor patients' medication therapies and provide clinical recommendations to physicians and nurses Refill Pyxis machines at two local family health centers as required Qualifications /

Desired Experience:

Active and clear California Pharmacist license (required) Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience (required) Experience with pharmacy software systems such as CSPI, Evident, or Pyxis is preferred; training available if needed Prior experience working independently as the sole pharmacist in a clinical setting is preferred Ability and willingness to fulfill all on-call hours (required) This per diem position offers a demanding yet rewarding clinical role in a supportive healthcare environment serving the local community.
