Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A full-time Pharmacist is needed for an inpatient staffing role at a prominent medical center in Ventura County. This position offers an opportunity to support critical pharmacy operations within an acute care hospital setting, with the potential for temp-to-hire conversion based on performance and fit.
Location:
Ventura County, CA (Camarillo area)
Job Type:
Contract (3 to 6 months)
Schedule:
Primarily four 10-hour shifts per week Some 8-hour shifts depending on pharmacy area Variable shifts including swing shifts, occasional weekends, and holidays
Key Responsibilities:
Fill prescriptions accurately and efficiently for inpatient orders Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal medication therapy and patient safety Monitor medication utilization and provide drug information support Participate in clinical rounds and communicate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
Valid California Pharmacist license required Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred Familiarity with Cerner pharmacy systems is a plus; training can be provided Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic inpatient environment This position requires flexibility to cover varied shifts including weekends and holidays, making it ideal for pharmacists comfortable within hospital inpatient pharmacy practice.
