Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract This opportunity seeks experienced and motivated pharmacists for immediate placement in a 12-week contract position with potential for contract-to-hire. The role is based in a long-term care setting, providing vital pharmaceutical services to patients in need.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM No weekends Responsibilities include: Dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently Monitoring patient medication compliance and detecting over-usage Ensuring all medications dispensed comply with legal standards and are appropriate for patient use Maintaining confidential patient records and managing pharmacy files with accuracy Counseling patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answering questions Offering consultation on both prescription and over-the-counter drugs regarding storage, dosage, interactions, and side effects Delivering additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management Educating patients on the use of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors Compounding medications and preparing sterile solutions following established protocols Supervising pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure efficient operations Managing inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies Collaborating with healthcare providers to identify and resolve drug-related patient issues
Qualifications:
Licensed pharmacist in California Experience in retail pharmacy is acceptable; training will be provided for candidates new to long-term care Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment Commitment to patient care and adherence to regulatory standards This contract role offers an immediate start, ideal for pharmacists located locally or willing to relocate.
