Monday-Friday | No Nights | No Weekends | No Holidays| No Hazardous Compounding Looking for a role that allows you to focus on quality, safety, and innovation without retail hours or hazardous drug compounding? We are seeking a Sterile Compounding Pharmacist to join our team in a Monday-Friday schedule with no nights, weekends, or holidays. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in advancing sterile compounding practices while working in a structured, team-oriented environment. Position Summary The Sterile Compounding Pharmacist is responsible for the oversight and quality assurance of sterile compounding operations, ensuring compliance with USP 797, state regulations, and internal standards. This role provides supervision and direction to sterile compounding technicians, maintains accurate and complete documentation, and upholds cleanroom and aseptic practice requirements. The role is critical to ensuring patient safety, product integrity, and regulatory compliance while supporting the continued growth and scalability of sterile compounding operations. Key Responsibilities Serve as the USP 797 Designated Person (DP), providing oversight of sterile compounding compliance Oversee sterile compounding activities in accordance with USP 797 Category 3 requirements Supervise, train, and mentor technicians in aseptic technique, gowning, and equipment use Perform in-process checks of compounded sterile preparations, including accuracy, technique, labeling, and beyond-use dating Identify and resolve discrepancies prior to final verification to maintain quality and compliance Maintain adherence to SOPs and support audits, inspections, and corrective actions Oversee environmental monitoring, media fill testing, and competency programs Support operation, calibration, and maintenance of automated compounding equipment and cleanroom systems Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready documentation Monitor ISO-classified cleanroom environments, including environmental controls and contamination prevention Uphold compliance with all sterile processing standards and safety protocols Maintain accountability for patient safety, product quality, and regulatory compliance
Requirements:
Licensure Active California Pharmacist license in good standing Eligibility to serve as USP 797 Designated Person Background Background in sterile compounding or the ability to quickly develop competency in sterile practices Strong knowledge of USP 797 (including Category 3), or the ability to rapidly build this expertise Proven ability to oversee and guide pharmacy technicians in a controlled environment Familiarity with regulatory inspections, audits, or compliance readiness Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Understanding of sterile compounding regulations and quality standards, with the ability to build advanced knowledge Strong attention to detail and commitment to compliance and documentation accuracy Ability to assess risk, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions Comfort working with and adapting to automated compounding technology Demonstrated leadership and ability to develop team members Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and compliance
