Position Overview:

We are seeking an Intake/LMN Pharmacist with experience with IVIG/SCIG, biologics, specialty infusion therapies, prior authorizations, payer criteria, LMNs, and appeals to join our team in Signal Hill.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform clinical review of new specialty/home infusion referrals and physician orders. Review dosing, frequency, administration, premedications, laboratory requirements, and other therapy-specific parameters. Identify order discrepancies and obtain clarification from prescribers when necessary. Review payer-specific authorization criteria and clinical documentation requirements. Collaborate with the authorization team to support approval of prescribed therapies. Prepare LMNs and clinical appeals for denied or non-formulary therapies using patient-specific clinical information, medical literature, and payer criteria. Conduct patient consultations and complete initial clinical assessments as applicable. Communicate with physician offices, patients, nursing, authorization, and other internal departments to facilitate timely initiation and continuity of therapy. Provide clinical support for complex specialty and infusion cases.

Qualifications:

PharmD degree required. Active pharmacist license in good standing. Specialty pharmacy and/or home infusion experience required. Experience with prior authorizations and insurance requirements preferred. Experience preparing Letters of Medical Necessity (LMNs) and clinical appeals preferred. Strong clinical assessment, research, written communication, and documentation skills. Familiarity with specialty medications, biologics, and infusion therapies is highly preferred Experience with IVIG/SCIG, biologics, specialty infusion therapies, prior authorizations, payer criteria, LMNs, and appeals is strongly preferred. Successful completion of a background check is required.
