Key Responsibilities:
Interpret, verify, and process physician medication orders accurately. Perform and supervise sterile compounding in strict adherence to USP <797> and USP <800> standards. Conduct final verification of compounded sterile preparations ensuring safety and quality. Review medication profiles to identify allergies, interactions, dosing appropriateness, and compatibility. Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy. Provide supervision and mentorship to pharmacy technicians and support staff. Maintain cleanroom and aseptic techniques with consistent environmental monitoring. Participate in quality assurance, medication safety initiatives, audits, and continuous improvement processes. Ensure accurate compounding, batch, and regulatory documentation is maintained. Assist in inventory management including controlled substances and overall pharmacy operations. Support the development and implementation of pharmacy policies, procedures, and staff education. Actively engage in staff meetings and professional conferences.
Qualifications:
Active Florida Pharmacist license in good standing. Minimum of 1 year recent sterile compounding experience, including hazardous and non-hazardous preparations, compliant with USP <797>, USP <800>, DEA, OSHA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations; or 3-5 years of sterile compounding experience. At least 1 year of recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience.
