CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Implements and maintains procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policies and legal requirements, to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal. Compounds and dispenses medications , as prescribed by doctors and dentists, by calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients . Calculates the volume of medication required to produce the desired resul ts to ensure proper dosages. Assesses the identity, strength , and purity of medications. Reviews presc riptions to en sure accuracy, ascerta in the needed ingredients, and evaluate suitability. Provides information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage , a nd storage. Analyzes prescription trends to mo nitor patient compliance and prevent inappropriate usage or harmful interactions. Maintains records, such as p harmacy and system files, patient profiles, inventories, control records for radio active nuclei, and registries for poisons, narcotics, and controlled drugs. Advises customers on the selection of medic ation brands, medical equipment, and health care supplies. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Certification and Licensing:
Certification in relevant specialty or field
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

Skill in collecting, organizing and analyzing data. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
