Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A licensed Florida pharmacist with leadership skills is needed to support a small Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital in Sarasota, FL. This role offers a unique opportunity to serve as the only full-time pharmacist on-site, taking full responsibility as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC). The position requires quick availability to begin contributing to patient care and pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities:

Serve as the sole full-time pharmacist, managing all day-to-day pharmacy activities in the LTAC hospital. Hold responsibility as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies. Oversee medication dispensing, verification, and distribution to support clinical care. Collaborate with medical and nursing staff to optimize medication therapy plans. Maintain accurate records, including controlled substances and inventory management. Provide professional guidance to pharmacy technicians and assist in staff training if applicable.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

Active Florida pharmacist license is mandatory. Experience as a Pharmacist-in-Charge or Pharmacy Manager preferred. Background in hospital pharmacy, ideally in long-term acute care or similar settings. Strong organizational and leadership abilities. Ability to work independently and make critical decisions to support patient safety. Commitment to compliance and quality standards in pharmacy practice.
