Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A full-time pharmacist is needed to serve as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at a 40-bed post-acute specialty hospital. This critical role is responsible for providing pharmacy staffing, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The average daily census is approximately 35 patients, and the pharmacy operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Key responsibilities include serving as the Consultant of Record (COR), overseeing pharmacy services, and providing weekend, after-hours, and on-call coverage. The pharmacy team currently consists of one pharmacist and one technician, supported during after-hours and weekends by a Remote Order Entry Service with the on-call pharmacist as backup. The hospital utilizes Wellsky as its pharmacy information system and Pyxis for automation. Experience with IV compounding in a Segregated Compounding Area (SCA)—excluding chemotherapy—is essential.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Active Florida Pharmacist license and Florida Consultant Pharmacist license Hospital pharmacy experience with PIC responsibilities Proficiency with Wellsky pharmacy information system and Pyxis automation Skilled in sterile IV compounding within a non-chemotherapy SCA Ability to provide reliable weekend, after-hours, and on-call coverage Availability to start promptly
