Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract An established 300-bed hospital in Quincy, IL, is seeking an experienced inpatient pharmacist for an overnight position. This contract role offers a unique schedule of 7 nights on followed by 7 nights off, with shifts from approximately 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The assignment is set to begin ASAP and extends for at least 13 weeks, providing both stability and a balanced work rhythm. The ideal candidate will hold a current Illinois pharmacist license and have a minimum of one year of inpatient pharmacy experience. Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records and Omnicell medication management systems is highly desirable, with direct EPIC experience considered a strong advantage. This position requires strong clinical skills and the ability to manage pharmacy operations efficiently during the overnight hours.
Responsibilities include:
Reviewing and verifying medication orders for inpatient use Collaborating with clinical staff to ensure optimal pharmaceutical care Managing inventory and medication dispensing systems overnight Supporting hospital protocols and compliance with regulatory standards Utilizing EPIC and Omnicell systems to maintain accurate documentation and inventory control
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Licensed pharmacist in Illinois Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience Experience with EPIC electronic health records preferred Familiarity with Omnicell medication systems an asset Strong critical thinking and communication skills
