Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A healthcare facility is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Staff Pharmacist to support its inpatient hospital pharmacy operations on a contract basis. This role involves working a rotating schedule between first and second shifts, ensuring seamless pharmaceutical services and patient care within the hospital environment.
Location:
Elgin, IL Schedule:
Rotating first and second shifts First shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Second shift: 2:30 PM - 10:00 PM Rotating weekends Contract duration: 13 weeks with potential extension
Responsibilities:
Dispense medications accurately and efficiently to inpatient units Provide clinical pharmaceutical support to healthcare teams Monitor patient medication therapies to promote safety and effectiveness Collaborate with nursing and medical staff regarding medication management Utilize Cerner electronic medical record systems to process prescriptions and document interventions
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid Illinois pharmacy license Strong inpatient clinical pharmacy experience is highly desired Experience with Cerner pharmacy systems is a plus Ability to adapt to a rotating shift schedule and provide excellent patient care around the clock Strong communication and collaboration skills in a healthcare setting This contract opportunity offers a dynamic inpatient hospital environment ideal for pharmacists with clinical expertise seeking to contribute to patient-centered care.
