Overview:
This pharmacist will support pharmacy needs for emergency medicine for OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL
POSITION SUMMARY
The Pharmacist 7 On-7 Off reports to the Pharmacy Operations Manager and is responsible for compounding and dispensing medications and other pharmaceutical supplies according to established procedures and professional pharmacy practice. This role reviews prescriptions, obtains clarifications, analyzes drug therapy and regularly consults with medical staff, nursing personnel and others in order to coordinate delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical services to Medical Center patients. Although duties may vary by assigned area or shift, the following accurately describes the essential job functions. The Pharmacist will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served, including neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric. This role is responsible for efficient and accurate dispensing of all medications by the pharmacy and serves as a medication consultant for all healthcare professionals.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Licensure/ Certification:
Active Pharmacist License American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required within 90 days of hire.
Other Skills/ Knowledge:
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the age of patients served. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional, and psycho-social needs of the patient population served. Demonstrates sound professional judgment consistent with clinical/academic background. Complies with state and federal pharmacy rules and regulations. Electronic medical record competency. Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work well with others. Excellent computer skills and the ability to process detailed information in an accurate manner. + PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD.)
Experience:
2 years of hospital experience serving a variety of patient types is preferred. Prior experience with electronic health records preferred.
Licensure/ Certification:
Pharmacy Practice PGY1 residency or Board Certification preferred. OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
