Overview We are seeking an experienced, self-driven Hospital Pharmacist to lead daily pharmacy operations and serve as a key clinical partner across our care team. This role carries both operational responsibility and direct patient impact — from managing medication therapies and regulatory compliance to advising physicians and mentoring pharmacy staff. You will be a visible, trusted resource across departments in a collaborative, close-knit environment. Duties Clinical Excellence Review, verify, and dispense medication orders with a focus on accuracy, safety, and therapeutic appropriateness Operations & Compliance Ensure full compliance with state board of pharmacy regulations, CMS standards, and internal hospital policies Maintain medication inventory including controlled substances, with accurate and audit-ready documentation Supervise and coordinate pharmacy technicians, supporting scheduling and day-to-day workflow Support formulary management, pharmacy audits, and policy development Maintain precise documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system What We're Looking For Required Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in Kentucky 5-10 years of hospital pharmacy experience Strong working knowledge of inpatient pharmacy operations and regulatory standards Experience with controlled substance management and pharmacy audits Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work independently in a smaller hospital setting Preferred Experience in a critical access or rural/community hospital environment Prior lead or supervisory pharmacy role PGY1 Residency training or Board Certification (BCPS) Physical Requirements Prolonged standing and walking; ability to lift up to 25 lbs; manual dexterity for medication preparation and computer use. Monitor patient medication regimens for effectiveness, drug interactions, contraindications, and adverse reactions Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute directly to patient care planning Provide clinical consultation and evidence-based drug information to physicians, nurses, and clinical staff Lead medication reconciliation efforts and support ongoing quality improvement initiatives
