JOB DESCRIPTION
Pharmacist-In-Charge Job Purpose /Summary:
Our closed-door pharmacy supports a large employer in the Greater New Orleans area and is seeking a pharmacist with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and leadership mindset. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating independently, taking ownership of day-to-day pharmacy operations, and driving continuous improvement. Prior PIC experience is preferred. The Pharmacist-In-Charge is responsible for managing all aspects of the pharmacy operations to ensure efficient and effective delivery of pharmaceutical services. This includes overseeing personnel, ensuring compliance with regulations, maintaining inventory control, and providing quality patient care.Critical Success Factors:

The Manager of Pharmacy Operations will be responsible for the following, but not limited to: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy including dispensing medications, managing inventory, and maintaining accurate documentation and records. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Recruit, train, and supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support personnel. Provide ongoing feedback and performance evaluations to pharmacy staff. Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration. Monitor workflow to optimize efficiency and customer service. Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering medications and supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste. Implement strategies to optimize inventory turnover and reduce costs while ensuring adequate supply to meet patient needs. Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to reconcile discrepancies and ensure accuracy. Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes and ensure safe and effective medication use. Counsel patients about their medications, including dosage instructions, potential side effects, and drug interactions that could have a negative impact on their health. Investigate and address any incidents or errors to prevent recurrence and promote patient safety. Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction to improve patient and provider experience. Effectively and clearly communicate potential risks to Leadership in a timely manner. Maintain strong relationship with client partners and meet as needed to ensure operational excellence. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.Qualifications & Education Requirements:
To perform the job successfully, an individual must have the following: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution. State licensure as a pharmacist. 2+ years in pharmacy management, with a focus on corporate or multisite settings. Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize tasks, problem-solve, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
