  • Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A pharmacy opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist in Minnesota to work an 8-week contract providing essential pharmacy services in a dynamic healthcare setting.
This role requires flexibility to support various shifts, including weekends, to ensure continuous patient care.
Location:
Elk River, MN (with coverage needs in the Fridley/Minneapolis area)
Schedule:
Flexible shifts between 9:30 AM
  • 6:00 PM, 10:00 AM
  • 6:30 PM, or 11:00 AM
  • 8:30 PM Rotating Saturday and Sunday shifts
Responsibilities:
Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal and regulatory standards Monitor patient medication adherence and usage patterns to promote safe and effective therapy Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation with precision Provide medication counseling, including usage instructions, potential side effects, and drug interaction guidance Offer clinical services such as smoking cessation programs, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management Educate patients on the correct use and maintenance of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, to maintain workflow efficiency Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify and resolve drug-related issues ensuring optimal patient outcomes
Qualifications:
Current Minnesota pharmacist license must be in-hand Will consider retail pharmacists and provide training as needed on clinical and compounding procedures Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, as part of a rotating schedule Strong communication skills and attention to detail This contract opportunity is ideal for pharmacists seeking to apply their expertise in a supportive environment that values patient-centered care.
