Staff Pharmacist - Long-Term Care Pharmacy (Verification Focus) Job Description The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for the day-to-day operational duties associated with dispensing prescription medications in a long-term care and post-acute pharmacy setting, with a strong focus on verification workflows in a structured, team-oriented environment. This role centers on ensuring accurate, safe, and compliant prescription processing while supporting efficient, high-quality pharmacy operations in accordance with state, federal, and internal standards. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in pharmacy practice, thrives in a high-volume setting, and is passionate about delivering high-quality care to long-term care patients in a non-customer-facing role. Responsibilities Perform thorough clinical data review to ensure the accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance of all prescriptions. Verify prescription data entry (PV1) to confirm that all medication orders are entered correctly and completely. Verify final packaged medications (PV2) to ensure the correct drug, dosage, quantity, and labeling prior to dispensing. Utilize live workflow dashboards to manage, organize, and prioritize workload throughout the shift to meet productivity expectations. Collaborate closely with pharmacy technicians, other pharmacists, and healthcare providers to support optimal patient outcomes. Maintain accurate and complete documentation for all verification and dispensing activities in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements. Participate in quality assurance initiatives and process improvement efforts to enhance accuracy, safety, and efficiency. Work effectively within a structured, team-oriented environment to meet daily volume demands and support overall pharmacy operations. Perform all responsibilities in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations and internal pharmacy policies. Essential Skills Active Minnesota Pharmacist License in good standing. Pharmacist degree from an accredited college of pharmacy. Work Environment This role is based in a long-term care pharmacy setting that emphasizes efficient, high-quality operations in a non-customer-facing environment. The position primarily works 2nd shift Monday through Friday, with a start time between approximately 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM and an end time between approximately 10:30 PM and 12:30 AM. After initial onboarding, the pharmacist will be included in a weekend rotation, typically every third or fourth weekend. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $62.00 - $64.00/hr.
