The Staff Pharmacist will review prescriptions, oversee the dispensing of medications and work closely with other health care professionals to ensure safe and effective treatment for patients at our long-term care facility partners. An ideal candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and attention to detail are critical to success. Key Responsibilities Accurately prepare medications for final dispensing to the patient, including filling, order entry, and packaging. Verify the legality and pharmaceutical feasibility of dispensing a drug based on patients' allergies, incompatibilities with current medications, frequency of refills, etc. Interpret prescription orders, to include exercising professional judgment in determining whether to dispense a particular prescription, taking into account patient safety and legal limitations. Consult with prescribers, nurses and patients about drug interactions, adverse effects, medication storage, and other requested or pertinent prescription drug information as required or necessary. Verify correct medication, directions for use, and other prescription information, in accordance with Radius Living Rx policy and state and federal regulations prior to dispensing. Adhere to all Federal and State Board of Pharmacy regulations. Provide guidance to pharmacy technicians, pharmacist-interns and any other pharmacy support personnel performing pharmacy related duties Compound nonsterile prescriptions in accordance with USP and state and federal regulations as prescribed by calculating, weighting, measuring and mixing ingredients. Collaborate with other internal departments to resolve pharmacy issues. Meet or exceed daily workflow expectations. Other duties as assigned. Skills and Knowledge Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong listening skills, and strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with other healthcare professionals. Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail while handling multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritizing accordingly. Ability to solve problems with minimal direction. A desire and willingness to learn and perform new tasks. Self-motivated and self-directed. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm. D. degree required. Active MN Pharmacist License required. Prior experience in LTC Pharmacy preferred. Prior nonsterile compounding experience preferred. Schedule We are hiring for both of the following schedules:
Full Time Day Shift:
Rotating shifts between the hours of 7:00 am and 10:00 pm; Monday - Friday and rotating weekends
Pay:
$130,000.00 - $156,000.00 per year
