Job Description
Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A temporary pharmacist position is available in Fulton, MO, providing critical support in a state high-security psychiatry hospital's pharmacy. This role involves working in a pharmacy located outside the secure perimeter of the hospital, ensuring safety and a focused work environment with limited to no direct patient contact. The position requires a Missouri pharmacist license and offers coverage starting early September, continuing until a permanent hire is made. Working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no weekend or on-call duties. The pharmacy observes all Missouri state holidays and remains closed during those times. Key responsibilities include verifying technician-prepared medication bags flagged by InspectRx, repackaging, correcting bags, refilling canisters, and performing barcode scanning to ensure accuracy. Pharmacist staff are available for troubleshooting, and limited order verification is expected, so specialized behavioral health experience is not necessary. Technicians will handle the packager operation, order filling, and preparation for pharmacist review. The pharmacy uses Oracle/Cerner for order entry and Parata ATP2 packager automation, with full training provided—no prior system experience required. Approximately three days of training before starting the assignment are mandatory.
