Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC)

Pending Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and compliance-driven Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead the launch and daily operations of our new state-of-the-art pharmacy facility in Fort Lee, New Jersey. This is an exceptional ground-floor opportunity for a licensed pharmacist who wants to take ownership of clinical workflows, compliance protocols, and community-focused patient care from day one. As the PIC, you will be instrumental in establishing our operational footprint, building provider relationships, and ensuring strict adherence to New Jersey Board of Pharmacy regulations and federal standards.
Key Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance:
Maintain full compliance with all New Jersey Board of Pharmacy statutes, DEA regulations, HIPAA, and state/federal healthcare laws.
Operational Leadership:
Oversee day-to-day pharmacy workflows, inventory management, dispensing accuracy, and quality assurance protocols.
System Administration:
Utilize modern pharmacy management software (e.g., PrimeRx) and electronic prescribing systems for seamless dispensing and billing administration.
Clinical & Specialty Services:
Oversee patient counseling, specialty referral processing, and comprehensive medication management.
Team Development:
Recruit, mentor, and supervise support staff, pharmacy technicians, and clerks.
Provider Relations:
Collaborate with local medical practices, healthcare providers, and networks to foster strong referral pathways.
Qualifications & Requirements Licensure:
Active, unencumbered New Jersey Registered Pharmacist (R.Ph.) license in good standing.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-3 years of retail, community, or specialty pharmacy experience, with prior leadership or PIC experience strongly preferred.
Compliance Expertise:
Deep familiarity with NJ Board of Pharmacy rules, DEA controlled substance management, and PBM auditing standards.
Tech-Savvy:
Proficiency with modern pharmacy dispensing systems and electronic prescription platforms.
Soft Skills:
