Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A home infusion pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) for a 12-week full-time contract in Wayne, NJ. This role requires an active and unrestricted pharmacist license in both New Jersey and California. The position offers a standard Monday through Friday schedule, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with no on-call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee compliance with sterile and hazardous drug compounding standards. Ensure adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws, Board of Pharmacy regulations, and DEA requirements. Manage and support pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians. Maintain overall responsibility for pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance. Review and approve patient care plans, verifying therapy appropriateness, dosing, and medication compatibility.

Qualifications:

Active and unrestricted New Jersey and California pharmacist licenses. Previous experience in a Pharmacist in Charge or managerial role. Familiarity with verification of sterile medications. IV compounding experience is preferred but not mandatory. Local candidates only.

Team Environment:

The pharmacy team includes 7 technicians, 4 pharmacists, a Director of Pharmacy, and a Pharmacy Coordinator. Sterile compounding experience is highly valued but not required. This contract provides an excellent opportunity for pharmacists seeking to leverage dual-state licensure and management experience in a collaborative home infusion setting.
