A Clinical Pharmacist provides medications to patients and educates patients and physicians on the proper use of medications. Works in a clinical setting, directly with physicians and other health professionals, often granted patient care privileges and responsibility of assisting in patient care management. Usually requires a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.

Shifts:
M-F 8:30-5 or 12:30-9. every other weekend both Saturday and Sunday- 8:30-5.
Pay rate:
$69hr Overview there is no Guarantee of a longer contract than 2 months at the moment. Accept and dispense prescription medications. Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns. Ensuring that the supply of medicines is within the law. Ensuring that the medicines prescribed to patients are suitable. Accurately maintain confidential records of all patients ensure proper management of patient records and pharmacy files. Advising patients about medicines, including how to take them, what reactions may occur and answering patients' questions. Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications for storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions. Provide services to patients, such as smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement and cholesterol management. Educate patients on proper handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitor and glucose meters. Compound medications for external or internal use. Prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures. Supervise pharmacy staff members including pharmacy technicians, pharmacy clerks, etc. Maintain appropriate inventory on pharmaceutical and medical supplies. Identify patient?s drug-related problems and effectively communicate with physicians and other healthcare practitioners. Work in conjunction with physicians, nurses, other pharmacists, pharmacy interns, etc. Doctor of Pharmacy degree required. Licensed by the state pharmacy board. Duties Prepare, dispense, and review medications accurately in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols. Provide expert consultation on pharmacology, pharmacotherapeutics, and medication management tailored to diverse patient populations including pediatrics, oncology, ICU, and trauma patients. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy, monitor drug efficacy, and adjust treatments as needed. Oversee IV infusion preparation and aseptic technique to ensure safe compounding practices in compliance with pharmaceutical regulations. Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems for documentation, medication reconciliation, and clinical decision support. Collaborate with healthcare teams on acute pain management, emergency room interventions, and post-residency pharmacy practices within Level I Trauma Centers and Level II trauma centers. Educate patients on medication use, potential side effects, and safety precautions to enhance patient service and adherence. Requirements Valid pharmacist license with current registration in the applicable jurisdiction. Extensive hospital pharmacy experience including hospital medicine, critical care (ICU), emergency room procedures, and pharmacy information systems (PIS). Demonstrated expertise in managed care principles, pharmaceutical regulatory compliance, and drug regulation standards. Proven ability to practice as a pharmacist within high-acuity environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or PICU settings. Strong knowledge of pharmacology, physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and drug interactions relevant to acute care scenarios. Experience with IV compounding techniques, aseptic procedures, and medication administration protocols. Prior experience precepting pharmacy residents or students is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills with the ability to perform patient assessments effectively and provide clear clinical guidance.
Pay:
